Pierrie Seeks National Board Certification

Ballentine Elementary teacher Bob Pierrie has begun the year of hard work that will result in his earning certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. Pierrie has begun downloading information from the NBPTS website and has begun to sign up to work with other WCPSS teachers seeking certification this year.

School speed humps delayed

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools were on a two hour delay because of the weather, and schools are closed in Watauga, Alleghany and Ashe counties.

Taylor County fugitive found in New Mexico

GRAFTON — Kenneth Mikolon, a Taylor County man wanted on sex charges, was found by U.S. Marshals Tuesday in New Mexico, WBOY reported.
